We have noticed a few people on local north Iowa for sale groups selling amateur radio equipment.
We do not want this to be taken negatively, but we want to make sure that you are aware both as a buyer and a seller!
Please remember that transmitting on these radios requires an amateur radio license.
We will be more than pleased to help you get this license so you can LEGALLY join the fun.
This is as easy as learning a multiple choice test that we can help you start studying for today!
Talking without a license could find you looking at jail time, and fines between $7,500.00 to $10,000.00 (for each violation),
Plus you’re equipment being confiscated.
We also recommend the sellers “cover their own butt” and note in the advertisement that you must be licensed to transmit on this radio.
You do not need to be licensed to own, listen to, or sell these radios. But you MUST be licensed to transmit with / talk on them.
“Federal law prohibits radio broadcasts without a license issued by the FCC. Anyone found operating a radio station without FCC authorization can be subject to a variety of enforcement actions, including seizure of equipment, fines and other criminal penalties.”
The close of registration for the club annual campout is fast approaching! You have until August 3rd to register and send in your camp fees ($30). The campout is going to be at Wilkinson Park in Rockfalls August 23rd through 25th.
A time to relax, enjoy good company, good food and chat about anything of interest.
This will be an informal event. In other words, we do not plan any activities, what ever we decide to do is what will happen!
Registration closes August 3rd. You must give us your registration information and submit camp fee’s ($30 for the weekend) by August 3rd.
This is one of several social activities the club does each year.
