Culb Campout
Mark your calendars! Our annual club campout is the weekend of May 16–17th at Interstate Park in Mitchell, IA. Whether you camp the whole weekend or just drop by for the day, it’s a great chance to operate, socialize, and enjoy the outdoors. Bring your radio gear and ideas!
Big News: We Finally Have Bylaws!
After years of discussion and lots of back-and-forth, the club has officially approved and adopted a new set of bylaws. Thank you to everyone who stuck with the process and gave input. This is a big step forward for NACG!
ARES Update
ARES is moving forward and we still need more members! The Amateur Radio Emergency Service provides backup communications for Cerro Gordo County during disasters and severe weather. You don’t have to be an official member yet—just come check in to our ARES nets for comms training and practice. Our net runs every Wednesday at 7:00 PM on 147.315 MHz (DCS 047). All are welcome!
Solar Weather Outlook
April Recap: Solar activity was moderate with sunspot numbers around 100–110 and solar flux near 140 SFU. Higher bands (10m–20m) had decent daytime openings. May Outlook: Sunspot numbers are forecast around 105 with solar flux in the 135–150 SFU range. Expect good daytime HF conditions and mostly stable propagation.
